•  The Union government has renamed the Bombay, Calcutta and Madras High Courts as Mumbai High Court, the Kolkata High Court and the Chennai High Court.
• The government has approved increase in Foreign investment from current level of 62% of 74% of total paid up share capital of Axis Bank.
• The government gave "in-principal" approval for setting up a major part at Enayam near Colachel in Tamil Nadu.
