1. Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu has flagged off Danapur Saharsa Janhit express train service between Danapur and Saharsa in Bihar in New Delhi with an aim to connect every region of the country with the rail network. 


2. The Union Cabinet has decided of the establishment of Fund of Funds (FFS)  for startups at small Industries Development Bank of India (Sidbi) for contribution to various Alternative Investment Funds (AIF). For this the government has allocated Rs 10,000 crore and which will be built up over the 14th and 15th Finance Commission cycles, subject to the progress of the scheme and availability of funds.

3. Rs 6000 crore package has been approved by the government as a special package for textiles and apparel sector to create one crore new jobs in 3 years, attracting investments of $ 11 billion and generating $ 30 billion in exports.

4. India and Belgium have signed a pact for the avoidance of double taxation with Belgium. The decision in this regard was taken at the Union Cabinet meeting under the Chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

5. India and Germany have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Steinbeis GmbH Co. KG, Germany for technology transfer and resourcing in manufacturing, include sub-sectors of capital Goods. Steinbeis GmbH is leading organization for applied industrial research in Europe.

6. The cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given his concent and approved the development of four laning of Hubli-Hospet section of NH-63 in Karnataka. The estimated cost is Rs 2272.20 crore including the cost of land acquisition resettlement and rehabilitation and other pre construction activities.        

7. The Union Cabinet has given its approval for the proposal of extending the deadline for implementing the Ujjwal Discom Assurance Yojana (UDAY) by a year to March 31, 2017.

8. World Public Service Day and International Widows Day have been celebrated on 23th June 2016. The theme of International Widows Day: Never Alone.

9. A referendum began in the United Kingdom to decide whether the nation will remain part of the European Union or exit the organisation (Brexit)       

10. Manoj Kumar and Vikas Krishan, Indian boxers, have qualified for the Rio Olympics, after beating Rakhimov Shavkatdzhon and Lee Dongyun, respectively in the AIBA World Olympic qualification event in Azerbaijan.
